What is a Collection and how do I create one?

Collection is an ever-changing, seller and shopper-curated gallery comprised of lists of items from the Handmadeology Market.

These lists contain 12 items. Anyone can create a themed collection or feature their favorite items from the Handmadeology Market.

What you need to know before getting started

• Collections can be used for self-promotion or putting together your favorite items.
• There is no limit to the number of lists you can create.
• The number of  likes your collection receives determines if it gets featured or not.
• The collections with the most “likes” will be added to the featured section.

Here are some tips for creating your own Collections.

If you have never registered to be a member of the Handmadeology Collections site, you will have to do that first. Look for the sign in button and click.

A login in screen will pop up and you can register by click the register link.

Once you are registered find the add new collection link click and a drop down box will appear where you will enter the title of your new collection. Hit the create button and you will be taken to the page with your new collection.

Now you are on your new collection page and you can start filling in the blanks.  You can change the title if you want and add a description.  You can add html in the description box. Make sure you update after you enter text.

To add items to the boxes just find the item url from the Handmadeology Market, copy and paste into the url stop and hit update.  If you want to remove the item just hit delete.

Once your collection is set you can spread the word by embedding sharing , pinning, and tweeting!

Embedding a collection is simple.

Step 1.  Make sure you are logged out, then go find a collection you like!

Step 2.  Click on the embed collection link.

The more likes a collection has the more exposure it will get!
